Volunteering with Co404 means becoming the extra sibling, cousin, or friend every guest hasn’t yet met—someone who sparks conversation over morning coffee, organizes impromptu game nights, and makes our spaces feel like home. Many have said that we have the best community vibe in all of Latin America, and that is mainly thanks to our volunteers.
Community is at the heart of everything we do, and as a volunteer your empathy and social spark turn a simple stay into lifelong friendships. If you’d rather be chatting with new people than streaming Netflix solo, and you love creating warm, inclusive vibes, you belong here. Volunteers receive a free (at least) one-month stay, daily breakfast on us, and the chance to build deeper bonds that last far beyond checkout.

Bring family vibe
Most important role is to be family—to spark warmth, connection, and belonging for every guest and fellow volunteer at Co404. It’s not about chores or checklists; it’s about creating a home away from home where everyone feels welcomed, supported, and part of our community.
Activities
Each week we run three core Co404 activities, and our volunteer team selects two extra events from everyone’s recommendations—so we have five total events each week. With six volunteers, you’ll help decide which two extras to host, and everyone is expected to lead at least one activity per week. Don’t worry about costs—Co404 covers everything you organize!
Creative chores
As our Creative Chores volunteer, you’ll capture and share the Co404 story—creating social media posts, photographing daily life, designing graphics, and creating engaging content across our channels.

How does co404
My experience as a volunteer at Co.404 has been without a doubt once in a lifetime. I chose to volunteer at first as a tool to travel cheap, and never expected to encounter such amazing people. Co.404 is kinda special. I've traveled quite a bit and lived in several countries throughout the years but at Co.404 I had the best human connections. It was exactly what I needed at that time. Eclectic people, a chill and of course, a very lovely homey vibe. Unpretentious. My heart was full. I even extended my stay!

To be honest: Volunteering here is fun. Surrounded by lovely, cosmopolitan people and a good atmosphere - that's all I want. Once a week they ask you to offer an activity. There are no limits to your creativity - loved it so much! Beside that, volunteering in San Cristóbal is definitely a very smart move if you love culture and nature. There is a lot to discover and to see in and around this beautiful and magical town! I am so grateful that I had the opportunity to join the Co. 404 family while my travels. A time full of memories and cheerful moments.

This is an excellent opportunity to immerse yourself in the Mexican culture. There will be plenty of time to practice your Spanish, explore the local cuisine and see all the lovely landscapes, which there are plenty of!!
Also, if you are a starting digital nomad, or you would like to become one, Co.404 is the perfect place to learn from everyone who works here and experience first hand how they do it. Connect with other digital nomads, some who have been doing this for years.
